Colorado is an amazing place to live, raise a family, and retire, and I’m proud to call Arapahoe County home. My husband and I have lived in this community for over 30 years. We raised our two wonderful children here, and have found many ways to serve our neighbors here.
As Arapahoe County Commissioner, I kept property taxes low in Littleton, Centennial, Columbine Valley, Bow Mar, and all of Arapahoe County – in fact, our taxes were the lowest in the entire Front Range. I eliminated over-burdensome regulations that stifled productivity and wasted time and money, cutting more than 800 rules and regulations from county programs.
I’ve worked in the public sector and I’ve worked in the private Sector. I’ve seen firsthand that fiscal waste and inefficiency in our state drains your hard earned tax dollars and I and I have stood against it. My whole career, I’ve fought to reform how we do business and make government efficient, effective, and accountable to you – the taxpayer.
Now I’m running to take our common sense values and accomplishments to Denver. Please join me in standing up for reforms to reduce the negative impact that the overreach of state government has on your business, your life and your community. Join me in making sure Colorado is a safe and prosperous place for us to live.
I’m Susan Beckman and I’m running for the Colorado State House of Representatives to make sure we build a bright future in Colorado for our kids and grandkids.
Arapahoe County and our entire region have benefited from Susan's experience, leadership, and community service. Susan successfully garnered support and funding for safety and congestion mitigation transportation projects in our district, and she leveraged funding from federal, state and local sources for congested intersections in the region such as: C-470 and Santa Fe, Arapahoe Road and I-25, and South Parker Road and Arapahoe Road.
Susan founded the South Platte Working Group which brought together 16 local governments to facilitate environmental cleanup, removing junk yards, building trails and protecting the river corridor from high density development along its banks. She helped negotiate the long term lease of Arapahoe County’s former landfill site to South Suburban to create a 140 acre sports complex.
